5 School Goals for Parent Engagement 1. Provide a welcoming environment for families ad invite them to participate as equal partner in the education of their children. 1. Provide parents opportunities to acquire necessary information, knowledge, and skills to support their children’s education at home and at school. 1. Engage parents in the school’s volunteer program so they can participate in supporting school-wide, classroom, and parent involvement activities. 1. Respond to parent concerns and/or complaints to ensure child’s educational needs are met. 1. Comply with all LAUSD, State, and Federal requirements regarding parent involvement.

Today, you will be asked to help create the Parent Involvement Policy. 1. Individually, write down the ideas for that your school currently does to address the part of the policy assigned to your group. ▫ ▫ ▫ Group A: Section I: Involvement of Parents in the Title I Program Group B: Section II: School-Parent Compact and Section IV: Accessibility Group C: Section III: Building Capacity 2. As a group, chart the responses to the section assigned to your table.
