Revelation Part 2 Lesson 4

Revelation 11 � John is given a measuring stick for the temple, altar and worshipers � Told NOT to measure the outer court � Nations will tread court and holy city 42 mon. � God grants authority to 2 witnesses � They prophesy for 1, 260 days � Described as: 2 olive trees; 2 lampstands � Fire from their mouths devours enemies � No rain during the 1, 260 days of prophecy � Able to turn water to blood and strike the earth with plagues

Revelation 11 � Beast from the abyss makes war with them AFTER the 1, 260 days and kills 2 witnesses � Their dead bodies lay in the street 3 ½ days � Life comes into them; taken to heaven � Earth dwellers rejoice at their deaths � Great earthquake; 1/10 of the city falls; 7, 000 people are killed � Survivors are terrified and give God glory � The 2 nd woe is past: 3 rd woe is quickly coming

Revelation 11 LAST EVENT � 7 th trumpet = 3 rd Woe � Christ will reign forever and ever � 24 elders worship God because He reigns � Nations are enraged � God’s wrath comes � Time comes to: Judge the dead, reward God’s servants, prophets and saints � Time comes to destroy those who destroy the earth � Temple in heaven opens; ark of the covenant appears in His temple. � Lightning, sounds and peals of thunder, earthquake and hail ON EARTH

Revelation 12 � Great sign in heaven of a woman � Clothed with the sun � Moon under her feet � Crown of 12 stars on her head � In labor about to give birth � Another sign in heaven of a great red dragon with 7 heads, 7 diadems and 10 horns � Dragon: devil, Satan, serpent of old � Tail sweeps away 1/3 of stars, his angels, from heaven and throws them to earth

Revelation 12 � Satan wants to devour the woman’s child � She births a male child who is caught up to heaven and God’s throne � Child will rule nations with a rod of iron � Woman fled to wilderness, prepared by God, for 1, 260 days (time, times and ½ a time) � War in heaven between Michael and his angels and Satan and his angels (not sure when) � Satan and his angels are not strong enough and are thrown to the earth

Revelation 12 � Satan persecutes the woman � Tries to destroy her with a flood � Earth swallows up the flood � Dragon/Satan makes war with the rest of her children � Rest of her children: keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus � Verses 10 -12 COULD sound like a time phrase for 11: 15 -18

Revelation 13 � Dragon stands on the seashore on earth � Beast comes up out of the sea � Beast has 10 horns with 10 diadems and 7 heads with blasphemous names on them � Beast is like a leopard/feet like a bear/mouth like a lion � Dragon gave the beast from the sea his power, throne and great authority for 42 months � One head fatally wounded; heals

Revelation 13 � Whole earth is amazed and follows the beast � Whole earth worships the DRAGON because he gave beast it’s power � Whole earth worships the BEAST because there is none like him or able to wage war � Beast blasphemes God, His name, His tabernacle and those in heaven � Wars with the saints and overcomes them � Authority over every: tribe, people, tongue and nation give to him (by whom? )

Revelation 13 � Beast worshiped by: � All on the earth whose name has NOT been written in the Lamb’s book of life � ANOTHER BEAST: out of the earth, 2 horns like a lamb; speaks like a dragon � Has the authority of 1 st beast in his presence � Makes earth and those who dwell there worship the 1 st beast � Great signs, fire from heaven, deceives � Causes earth dwellers to make an image of 1 st beast and worship it � Gives breath to the image � Causes all to be given a mark; buy and sell with

Revelation 14 � 144, 000 before the Lamb on Mt. Zion in heaven � Father’s name and the Lamb’s name on their foreheads � Sang a new song only they could learn � Purchased as first fruits, from the earth, to God and the Lamb � They follow the Lamb � Not defiled with women; chaste � Not liars; blameless

Revelation 14 � 1 st Angel: flying Has eternal gospel to preach � “Fear God. Give Him glory” � “Judgment hour has come. Worship Creator” � 2 nd Angel: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon…. ” � 3 rd Angel: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark = Wrath of God in full strength of His anger. Tormented � Torment forever. No rest day or night. � “Here is the perseverance of the saints…”

Revelation 14 � “Blessed are the dead who die IN THE LORD from now on. ” During the 42 month reign � “One like the son of man with a sickle” � 4 th Angel: Came from heavenly temple � Speaks to one like the son of man: “Put in your sickle and reap” � 5 th Angel: Came from heavenly temple and had a sharp sickle like the son of man

Revelation 14 � 6 th Angel: Has power over fire. Came out from the altar (in heavenly temple) � Speaks to him who has the sharp sickle saying, “Put in sickle and gather clusters of grapes” � Angel gathered grapes and threw into great wine press of the wrath of God � Wine press trodden outside the city � Blood comes up to horses’ bridles (height? ) � Blood goes for 200 miles (distance? )

Revelation 15 � Another sign in heaven, great & marvelous � 7 angels who have 7 plagues – the last � Those victorious over the beast, over his image, over the number of his name � Stand on a sea of glass holding harps of God � Sing a song of Moses and the Lamb � AFTER these things: Temple opened � 7 angels, 7 plagues come out of the Temple � Living creature gives 7 bowls full of wrath � No one can enter the temple because of the smoke from God’s glory and until plagues are finished

Revelation 16 � Loud voice, from temple in heaven, “Go and pour out the 7 bowls of God’s wrath” � 1 st bowl: malignant sores on beast worshipers � 2 nd bowl: sea becomes blood; every living thing in the sea dies (fish, plants, etc. . ) � 3 rd bowl: rivers and waters become blood � 3 rd angel/bowl is the angel of the waters who says, “Righteous are You…. They poured out Your saints’ and prophets’ blood, so they get blood to drink”

Revelation 16 � 4 th bowl: Sun scorched men with fire and fierce heat; blasphemed the name of God who has the power OVER THESE PLAGUES � Men do not repent so as to give God glory � 5 th bowl: Beast’s throne and kingdom become dark � “They” gnawed their tongues because of pain � “They” blasphemed the God of heaven � Did not repent of their deeds

Revelation 16 6 th bowl: Euphrates River dried up so that the way would be prepared for kings of the east � 3 demonic spirits come from the dragon, the beast and the false prophet to gather kings � Har-Magedon Armageddon � 7 th bowl: poured on the air “It is done” � Lightning, sounds, rumblings, thunder � Great earthquake splits city into 3 parts � Cities of the nations fall � Babylon receives God’s wrath � Every mountain and island flee � Hailstones weighing 100 pounds each fall � Men blaspheme and curse God � WHY NOT REPENT? �
