Revelation 17 The Woman, city & Beast Identified Rev. 17: 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

18: 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, (Gr. daimon) Idols - as 1 Corinthians 10: 20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, (false gods) and not to God: Isa. 21: 9 Something to see & worship rather than worshipping God

18: 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 1 John 4: 1 1 Tim. 4: 1 -3 The priests of Rome who take the unclean teachings worldwide Hold = prison

3 For all nations Pure wine is a symbol of God’s Word have drunk of the “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to wine of the wrath of the waters, and he that hath no money; her fornication, come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy and the kings of the wine and milk without money and earth have without price. ” (Isa. 55: 1) committed fornication with her, Adulterated wine (wine of fornication) is a mixture of God’s Word & human thinking Pr 30: 6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Mark 7: 5: 13

3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, This mixing results in madness & wrath among the nations Jer 51: 7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. It also results in the wrath of God being poured out Re 22: 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: Rev. 14: 8 -10

3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her,

3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. Who are the merchants of the earth? Gr. ”emporos” one on a journey, whether by sea or by land, esp. for trade, a merchant as opposed to a retailer or petty tradesman They were literal merchants made rich through the extravagant operations of the papacy and they were merchants in a spiritual sense trading in the ‘souls of men’ – the clergy of the Roman Catholic Church

4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Ex. 22: 7 ¶ If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double. Jer. 9: 23 -24 Extravagant & Lavish

8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 9 ¶ And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. “Consternation, fear, mutual slaughter will sweep the Italian peninsular followed by a disastrous volcanic eruption that shall destroy Rome, the very heart of the system (J. Rev. 18: 11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: 12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, 13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. V. 23 “for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. ”

All these wares necessary to practise sorceries & deception So they might trade in slaves, and souls of men

Slavery & bondage Liberty & Freedom Galatians 2: 4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: Galatians 5: 1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. 2 Peter 2: 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. Romans 8: 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, 18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! 19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. Jesus, the founder of Christianity, was the poorest of the poor. Roman Catholicism, which claims to be His church, is the richest of the rich, the wealthiest institution on earth. How come, that such an institution, ruling in the name of this same itinerant preacher, whose want was such that he had not even a pillow upon which to rest his head, is now so top-heavy with riches that she can rival - indeed, that she can put to shame - the combined might of the most redoubtable financial trusts, of the most potent industrial super-giants, and of the most prosperous global corporations of the world?

When the World was about to end - AD 1000 “The people were told to donate their possessions to what they were told was Christ’s bride on earth, the Roman Church…. . By giving away everything they were gaining merit in the eyes of the great judge” The Church, via her monastic orders and clergy, accepted the mounting offers of earthly riches. This she did by duly recording them with legal documents, witnesses and the like. Why such mundane precautions? To prove to the Lord on judgment day that Smith in England, Schmidt in Germany, Amusden in Scandinavia, Mac. Laren in Scotland O’donovan in Ireland had truly got rid of their earthly possessions? Not at all! To prove with matter of fact concreteness that the possessions of all those who had given were, from then on, the possessions of the papacy. For that is precisely what happened. …. It had been the most spectacular give-away in history. (Page 55 -56)

By using sorceries & deception 4. In the process they brought those men & women into bondage by concealing the truth 5. All this in the name of The Lord Jesus Christ This is the most evil & wicked system the world has ever known

20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. Rev. 14: 11 -13 Rev. 6: 9 ¶ And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. 1 Mark 9: 42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all 2 in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; 3 and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all 4 in thee; 23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all 5 in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all 6 in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. Religious music plays a large part in persuading the masses Craftsmen required for every aspect of Papal worship Every-day life will also cease Used extensively in papal worship No happiness or rejoicing, the ‘queen’ is now a ‘widow’ The great deceiver is destroyed in every way

“the light of the candle shall shine no more at all in thee” The candle is a symbol of divine light, purity and holiness. Though originally candles were functional, providing light in the dark catacombs, their principle use was symbolic. Burning votive candles honored graves of martyrs and images of saints, who were thought to be in some way present there, themselves sharing divine life and light.

“the light of the candle shall shine no more at all in thee” Lighted candles are carried before bishops and clergy in processions and placed at the altar to designate Christ’s presence. The paschal candle is a striking symbol of the risen Christ, light of the world. (Catholic Encyclopedia)

“and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; ” The top of a crosier, one of the bishop’s symbols of authority, decorated in ivory and gold with an image of the blessed virgin Mary and the Christ child

Rev. 19: 1 ¶ And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: 2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
