Revelation 1: 1 -2 ”The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; ἐντάχος (entachos) En: a fixed point of time Tachos: suddenly!

Revelation 1: 3 “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. ” Rev 1: 19 “Write things which thou has seen…” (Chapter 1)

“and the things that are” Ch. 2 -3 “The Church Age” “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. ” 7 times in Rev. 2, 3

“and the things that shall be hereafter” 4: 1 “After this a door was opened in heaven and a voice saying come up hither…. ”

Chapter 5 The Lamb receives the Scroll. 2, 5 “Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? ” “Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. ”

Revelation 7: The Sealing of the Saints. 2 -4 “And I saw another angel …having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, … Saying, Hurt not the earth…, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. ” “I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty four thousand of all the tribes of Israel. ” (See Ezekiel 9)

Revelation 7 The Sealing of the Saints. And the fruit of their labor. Vs 9 -10 “After this I beheld, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. ”

Rev. 8, 9 The Trumpet Judgments Rev 8: 1 “when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels; and to them were given seven trumpets. ” And the seven angels prepared themselves to sound. ” 6

Rev 10: The Mighty Angel and the Seven (unknown) Thunder Judgments. 4 “Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered” 6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, …that there should be time no longer: longer But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel… the mystery of God should be finished…” Teleō: completed, fulfilled

Rev. 11: Jerusalem and the two Witnesses Rev 11: 1 -2 “there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein but the court which is without the temple measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot 42 months. ”

Rev 11: 15 “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord; and he shall reign for ever and ever. ”

11: 19 “And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail. ” The Beginning of the End!!

Ch. 12: Israel, Satan, and War in heaven Rev 12: 1 “There appeared a great wonder in heaven a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. ” 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth”

Rev 12: 4 “and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5 she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there 1260 days. ”

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, Rev 12: 7 -9 called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world, and his angels were cast out with him. ”

Rev 12: 12 -14 “Woe to the inhabiters of the earth! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he hath but a short time And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman…” (Israel) But she flees…into her place where she is nourished for a time, times, and half a time. ” 1260 days of vs. 6

“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, Rev 12: 17 which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. ”

Rev. 13 The Beast reveals himself Rev 13: 2 -4 “the dragon gave (the Beast) his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon and the beast, And power was given unto him to continue 42 months. ”

Rev 13: 7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life 9 If any man have an ear, let him hear… And he had power to … cause that as many as would not worship the …beast 15 should be killed. ”

16 And he causeth all… to receive a mark in their right hand, or foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark. ”

Revelation 14 “In Wrath, remember Mercy” (Hab 3: 2) The 144, 000 Jewish Evangelists worship Christ. 1 -5

Three Angelic Messengers Preach the Gospel: “And I saw another angel. . having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth… Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him” Rev 14: 6

Three Angelic Messengers Proclaim Judgment! “there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, that great city, (The Beast’s Government) because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. ” Revelation 14: 8

Three Angelic Messengers Prepare (warn) of consequences And the third angel followed saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and receive his mark, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God… Revelation 14: 9 -11

Rev 14: 10, 11 “and shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and receiveth the mark of his name. ”

A Final Promise! Rev 14: 12 -13 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. 13 I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. ”

Rev. 1: 1 “The Revelation of Jesus Christ… to show His servants what must shortly come to pass…” 1) What has Jesus “revealed” to you? 2) What difference will you allow it to make?

Ro 13: 11 -12 “knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. ”

4) He’ll be backed by 10 major Nations in his rise to world wide power. (Dan. 7: 7, 24; Rev. 17: 12) Rev 17: 12 -13 “the ten horns …are ten kings, which …receive power as kings …with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. ”

5) His kingdom will be Satanically empowered! In Rev. 12 Satan is portrayed as a 7 headed dragon fighting God’s people and plan. Rev 13: 2 “the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. ” 2 Th 2: 3, 9 “whose coming is after the working of Satan”

6) He’ll be backed by the “Church”, using religion to gain the trust of the people. (Rev. 17) 7) This period of “political popularity” will last 3 ½ years. (Dan. 9: 27; Rev. 13: 1 -5)

Revelation 12 Vs 1 -6 VS. 7 -9

Rev 12: 12 “Woe to the inhabiters of the earth! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. ”

2. The Transition: A. There’ll be a possible assassination attempt. 1) Satan will possess (and apparently resurrect) him. (Rev. 13: 3) “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. ” 2 Thes. 2: 3, 9 “the son of perdition… whose coming is after the working of Satan”

2. The Transition: “Resurrection of the Beast” B. His “False Prophet” will do miracles. Rev 13: 12 -15 “he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, and doeth great wonders…”

2. The Transition: “Resurrection of the Beast” C. He will Desecrate the Temple demanding worship. 2 Th 2: 3, 4 “the son of perdition…opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. ”

This ushers in The Great Tribulation. Mt 24: 15 -24 “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand: ) Then let them …in Judaea flee to the mountains: “for then shall be great tribulation, tribulation (megas thlipsis: intense pressure, anguish, persecution) such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, nor ever shall be. ”

3. The Great Tribulation will be… A. A time of Incredible Manipulation. (Big, oppressive, intrusive Government. ) 1) Global Identification. Rev 13: 16 “he causeth all …to receive a mark in their right hand, or foreheads: ” 2) Global currency Control. “that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. ” Rev. 13: 17 This technology currently exists!

3. The Great Tribulation. Mt 24: 15 -24 B. A time of intentional Deception. Rev. 13: 12 -15 “he …causeth the earth to worship the first beast, and doeth great wonders and deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do…” 2 Th. 2: 3, 9 “whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders and deceivableness of unrighteousness …because they received not the love of the truth that they might be saved. ”

3. The Great Tribulation. Mt 24: 15 -24 C. A Time of Intense Persecution. Mt. 24: 21, 22 “then shall be great tribulation, tribulation (megas thlipsis) (intense pressure, anguish, persecution) such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: ”

C. Intense Persecution. Da 7: 7, “I beheld a beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces… and had 10 horns…and another horn…speaking great things…” 21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them…” 1) The Beast is the final world Government. 2) The Horn is the Anti-Christ leading it.

C. A Time of Intense Persecution. 3) The False Prophet “causeth the earth to worship the first beast, and doeth great wonders…deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. ” killed Rev. 13: 12 -15

Rev 6: 1 “when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, …saying, Come and see. ” Anti-Christ Death War Famine “and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth …to conquer. ” Vs 2

3. Great Tribulation. (Manipulation, Deception, Persecution) D. A Limited Duration. Mt. 24: 21 1) This period will be limited to 42 months. Rev. 12: 14; 13: 5 Mt. 24: 22“except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: for the elect's sake they shall be shortened. ” Daniel 7: 25 “he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, High …and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. ” 3 ½ years

Conclusion: During the 7 year Tribulation God will: Ø Allow the Beast to have his “way” for 42 months. Ø Miraculously protect the faithful Jews for these 42 months. (Rev. 12: 14) Ø Send two prophets to preach for 42 months. (Rev. 11) Ø Call 144, 000 Jewish evangelists to preach the gospel. (Rev. 14) Ø Send a special angel to preach. (Rev. 14: 6) Ø Send a series of 28 Divine Judgments on the world.

Daniel 7: 21 -22 “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. 27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. ”

This Great Tribulation is: Ø Horrible Ø Inevitable Ø Avoidable! 1 Thes. 5: 2 -11 “the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. ”

This Great Tribulation is Avoidable! 1 Th. 5: 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober… 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

This Great Tribulation is Avoidable! 1 Th. 5: 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, wrath but to obtain salvation (sōtēri’a: rescue, deliverance) by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us…” God has an “appointment” for your salvation! 2 Pt. 3: 9 “God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. ”

This Great Tribulation is Avoidable! 1 Th. 5: God has an “appointment” for your salvation. 2 Cor 6: 1 -2 “We, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain (Grace {Char’is} God’s influence on the heart…) For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, accepted There may be a time he won’t hear you! Pr. 1: 20 -33 and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: ”

This Great Tribulation is Avoidable! 1 Th. 5: God has an “appointment” for your salvation. 2 Cor 6: 2 “behold, now is the accepted time; time behold, now is the day of salvation. ” salvation Will you keep God’s appointment? Rev. 3: 20
