God’s creative work brings about redemption “God’s creative work brings about redemption. II. Mankind: the representatives of the Sovereign God A. Mankind is the pinnacle of God’s creative work B. Mankind is unique in all creation as God’s chosen representatives in it 1. We have a physical capacity to represent God 2. We were given the authority and moral capacity to represent God

Mankind is unique in all creation as God’s chosen representatives in it I take our role as image bearers to mean that we were created as whole persons with the capacity and expectation that we represent God’s will and purpose, faithfully exercising His ruling authority He has delegated to us to tend to His creation: a role which is unique to mankind as the pinnacle of His creation.

III. What is the significance for us today in light of today’s account in God’s story? A. Remember that this is the ideal B. Embrace the Sovereign God of creation! Ø Ø God created everything He is Sovereign and transcends His creation His word has unlimited power God makes true distinctions “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness. ” Isaiah 5: 20
