Goals can be long term or short term. Long term – something you want or desire a year or more from now. Short term – something you want or desire with in the next 12 months.
Setting and Meeting Goals Steps to take: Set the Goal – make sure that it is clear and write it down. Identify Resources – what do you need to reach the goal. Time, money, materials, human capital. Form a Plan of Action – How are you going to achieve your goal? Specify short term goals. Establish timelines. Act and Follow up - Carry out and evaluate your plan.
SMART Goals ● In order to set long or short term goals effectively, they need to be well written. ● SMART Goals should use these guidelines: ○ Specific – State exactly what is to be done ○ Measurable – Include how the goal can be measured
○ Attainable – Determine steps to reach the goal ○ Realistic – Do not set goals for something unrealistic ○ Time-Framed – State when the goal will be met
