BACKGROUND l l In 1997, investigation on on-farm tilapia feeding strategy was the main focus of Workplan 9. Actual on-farm trials started in 1999. Initially, this was a collaborative work with the University of Hawaii at Manoa with Dr. Chris L. Brown as the US PI. In 2000, CLB moved to FIU and the project leadership from the US side remained to him.
