About Lone Ranger The Lone Ranger is a 2013 American Western action film directed by Gore Verbinski and written by Justin Haythe, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio. Based on the titular character of the same name, the film stars Johnny Depp as Tonto, the narrator of the events and Armie Hammer as John Reid, the Lone Ranger. The film is told through Tonto's memories of the duo's earliest efforts to subdue local villainy and bring justice to the American Old West. William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, Ruth Wilson, James Badge Dale, Tom Wilkinson and Helena Bonham Carter also are featured in supporting roles. It is the first theatrical film featuring the Lone Ranger and Tonto characters since William A. Fraker's 1981 film, The Legend of the Lone Ranger.

Reason for the over budget. Disney had attempted to reign in the film’s budget

Reason for the over budget. Disney had attempted to reign in the film’s budget in the past. Last August, the movie was briefly shelved, partly due to disagreements over how much it was costing to produce. With this in mind, The Lone Ranger’s makers agreed to trim some action scenes and reduce their upfront fees in order to reduce the budget to $215 million. One early version of the script, written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, also had supernatural undertones to it. To cut down the effects budget, that screenplay has since been reworked by Justin Haythe, who ditched its spookier undertones, including some ghostly coyotes and a demon that turned victims into cannibals. More recently, however, it’s been rumoured that the budget has risen again, following delays and set damage caused by dust storms – these setbacks have, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s sources, put the budget back up to $250 million. They also went over production time as a lot of the movie had to be reshoot over again due to creative differences with in the director and producers.

Success or not? Over all The Lone Ranger was a somewhat success as you can see that the money went to a good resources as it allowed the movie to seem more realistic as the props and staging and customs were amazing, however the though their budgeting was a huge fail as this then lead to Disney not making any money but losing $190 million and also was not a huge success within the public as it was only giver 2 stars on https: //www. commonsensemedia. org/movie-reviews/the-lone-ranger this website give quite a clear accurate reading on what people thought about the movie. This is a big reason why I believe that The Lone Ranger was not a success as it lead to a hug lost in funds and also wasn’t given a good rating for the movie showing that they money they lost wasn’t just sue to props and staging going over budget and timing but also because the movie wasn’t that big a success for the public.
