RDM Survey » Research data management support needs « 12 Research Data Management Strategy at Fulda University of Applied Sciences 12
Selected Survey Results in Fulda I » Relevance of Research Data Management « ↘ The vast majority of participants ascribe relevance to RDM. ↘ So far, however, only a small proportion of researchers have to fulfil an RDM mandate from a funding institution (e. g. DFG, BMBF). ↘ As a result, only a few of the participants have experience with the provision and reuse of RD. ↘ A large majority are not familiar with specialist RD repositories, as are standard data (e. g. GND, LCNAD, ORCID, etc. ) and metadata is usually only partially stored. ↘ At the same time, there is an intrinsic Motivation for the RDM. In most cases, a commitment to the RDM is imposed by the participants themselves. 13 Research Data Management Strategy at Fulda University of Applied Sciences
Selected Survey Results in Fulda II » Requirements for a Respository « ↘ The least important requirement for a repository has turned out to be that it is physically located at one's own university, even if there is no great rejection of it. ↘ Functionalities such as permanent addressing / citation, postprocessing and versioning as well as search options and metadata for the stored data are important to the participants. ↘ Access protection with differentiated rights and the option of licensing are also rated as more important functions. ↘ The possibility of keeping RD available and readable in the long term (several decades) is also not considered important by most participants. 14 Research Data Management Strategy at Fulda University of Applied Sciences
