In this slide I will be exploring how teenage girls use social media and interpret it way too seriously.

Question a. In the content of the article I feel that they said some truthful things about teenage girls like to interpret social media with having approval from others when it comes to taking selfies. Especially selfies sometimes teenage girls would sit at the mirror in theirs for hours to find the perfect picture and I feel that it is getting too out of hand like they would get upset if they get not as many likes as their previous post. Also sometime they would have a secretive competition with the other girls on instagram. The one thing I don’t like is how is the teenage girls having their role models to kim kardashian and Kylie jenner and trying to be them when they live a very luxurious lifestyle and they’ll have to just accept that. Also girls are thinking that you’ll have kylie jenner's lips if you buy her lip kit which is not going to happen and you need to be more unique and think about yourself.

In the article ( DATE and Author) I agree with most of the outcome that they brought out about teenage girls being obsessed with social media but I disagree that it’s only girls because teenage boys could sometime get too carried away with social media by asking many people to like and comment also tend to show off their body too much in pictures. I think the topic on the article is good to raise out the habits that people have in general and hopefully the parents will look at this article and take action before social media take over their son or daughter.

Representation In Music In this slide I will be exploring my music collection that I’m interested in and the genre that I specifically don’t like and I’ll explain why.

My music collection is based around grime which is a genre from the Uk that started in the earlier 2000 s that developed through earlier UK electronic music styles including UK garage and Jungle and draws influence from dancehall, ragga and Hip hop. I like this genre because it perfectly suit me with the lyric talking about the struggle, the come up and also it can sometime be very energetic with their style of flow. I think that this genre has a identity because most of the artists showcase their lives living on the block of council flats as it specifically shows on the picture displayed under. Also on the picture it’s including the top artists from the genre such as Stormzy, Skepta, Wiley and many more that have endured the scene and inspired me to who I am with the music collection which is grime.

A genre of music that is not to your taste In my opinion but the genre of music that is specifically not my taste is country music because I feel like it is not my everyday music to listen to and it doesn't really fit with how my mind go with when im travelling somewhere. Normally when i’m listening to music i am reminiscing about a memory or just day dream with the lyric that comes to mind. Also if I’m honest but in the Uk you don’t often hear it or be suggested by friends maybe because it’s not for everyone and the audience of this music is more known in the United states because of the style they wear with the cowboy hat. In my opinion but I think that country music represent people are into cowboys because there’s people who are really interested in the trend and maybe the artist feel like it represent them and don’t mind the clothes wear.

Cartoon Genre In this powerpoint slide i’ll be discussing about cartoons with the similarities and difference about it and explain how they mix up their humour and how they operate with the noises , colours and many more. The cartoon I’ll be comparing will be The Simpsons and Tom and Jerry.

Tom and Jerry-Characters Tom: In the cartoon Tom is always trying to be sneaky, find different ways to get to Jerry but he always fail approaching him. Also Tom is a cat who only look for satisfying revenge. Jerry: In the cartoon Jerry is the mouse who try to stay out of Tom way but always managed to bump in to each other and Jerry always outsmart the cat when he go for a escape to get the cheese as most mouses desire for.

Colours In the cartoon of Tom and Jerry , the colours in the video makes it feel modern with the settings being bright and attractive for the target audience such as children enjoying the imagery. The colours bring much effect to the cartoon with the violent part of the cat and mouse attempting to hit each other look more friendly and entertaining.

Humour In the cartoon of Tom and Jerry they show the humour in the entertainment within the sound effect when Jerry is making movements looking for the cheese while Tom is luring him. I feel like this kind of humour is for the children because it shows many moments that might make them laugh. For example in the episode of invisible mouse there’s a scene of Tom chasing Jerry around the house but he failed and Jerry made him fall over the stairs and bump into the clock which people might find it funny. Also you can see the humour in the cartoon already with the cat chasing the mouse which is iconic when it comes to reality. The most important of the humour mostly come from the sound effect as in the show none of the characters could speak so when it comes to the noises it is really important to take notes on how they interpret the sounds and still managed to make humour come out in a cartoon.

Exaggeration In the cartoon of Tom and Jerry there is some sort of unreality moments in the show such as the cat and the mouse running with their feet up as if it’s a human and when Jerry turn invisible and he start playing around with Tom by using a cable electrifying him but it only burn his tail which uses exaggeration in the cartoon.

Speed In many cartoons there’s a lot to cover about it but the one thing that people tend to forget about is how they put the speed of the show while watching it. In my opinion I think that Tom and Jerry like to operate in a rather fast paced show as in the episode of invisible mouse you can see that when Tom was chasing Jerry around the house with the animations looking blurry to show fast the characters are going.

Music In the cartoon of Tom and Jerry they play music in the background to match the scene which can be very effective because it makes it sound much more jolly and also links back to humour making funny sound if something trips or if Tom is looking for Jerry. The music in the background of Tom and Jerry is jazz music which makes it interesting.

Story type In the cartoon of Tom and Jerry it is a series of sketches of showing different ways of Tom getting his revenge on Jerry which made it a successful show for the children because they wanted to see more and more come out of it.

The change in the cartoon genre over time can be seen most clearly in the way cartoons have become more realistic and less simple, like silent comedies were. Audience In the show of the Simpsons it comes more family friendly than Tom and Jerry because there is actual characters with emotion attached to them as a family unlike Tom and Jerry just going at each other with violence which is different to the simpsons. The only time the Simpsons showcase violence is when Bart get on Homer nerves and Homer start to strangle him. Also in the Simpsons there is more than one character while the other show only focus on Tom and Jerry which could get very repetitive.

Type of Humour In the cartoon of the simpsons they show their humour in a way that adult and children can laugh for example in the episode of Lisa first word I personally found it funny watching Bart getting told off and his response when he get sent to the corner by Homer. When it comes to Tom and Jerry they come with more of a childish humour as they’re always chasing each other around the house with the quick animation.

Colour In the cartoon Simpsons showed their colours of quality in it simple form over the years and it look very colourful and have more details when you see the characters close. When it came to Tom and Jerry you can tell that this cartoon is very old by seeing the detail in the background. The Simpsons first broadcasted in December 1989 and now we can see the transition that Matt Groening (Program creator) made with the show making it much more sharp as it was before. When it comes to Tom and Jerry their show was broadcasted in 1940 and I researched how the colour of the show looks in the latest episodes and I have to say that I prefer the modern version of the show because I feel that it is much more iconic.

Exaggeration In the Simpsons they show exaggeration on the way how Bart treated Lisa because of jealousy by cutting her hair and putting her on a postcode box. In Tom and Jerry I feel like it is similar in terms of exaggeration as they have a cat and a rat running around each other being violent. Also on the show they had Jerry electrifying Tom which is exaggerated because he shouldn’t be able to survive through that. Overall The simpsons definitely show their exaggeration by showing what bart was doing when he got jealous but when it comes to Tom and Jerry it is simple but much more extreme including Tom getting hit by a iron and a plate.

Characterisation In the Simpsons they showed a lot of characterisation with the characters for example Marge come as the kind , generous and caring person which the audience adore and care. In the episode of Lisa first word Bart came across jealous as he felt that he didn’t have any attention from his parents but Marge insisted that his sister cares about him a lot and Homer is a nice person but in the simpsons he can be a bit clumsy character with Bart always getting on his nerves and in the episode of Lisa saying her first word Bart ask Lisa to say dad and instead she said Homer which says a lot about the character. In the show of Tom and Jerry Tom comes as a stupid character as his plan is to always get Jerry but Jerry is a smart character who always get away From Tom. Overall The Simpsons shows a lot of characterisation than the Tom and Jerry because of it is more realistic and every character show each different emotions during the show with characters such as Bart, Marge, Homer and many more.
