Humanism n Humanism – the belief that the human being is the measure of all things , , that people and their activities are important and interesting

Individualism n Individualism Renaissance People thought it right to think for themselves, although they were still members of groups. It was their own ideas that gave them identity

Skepticism n Skepticism is having a questioning attitude. It was considered a good thing to try new things, experiment and shake up the system.

Well- roundedness n Well- roundedness – Renaissance people thought to be the ideal person you had to be interested in many different things and active in many fields.

Secularism n Secularism – means worldliness or a belief in life on earth. Making money, traveling and making your house comfortable are secular activities. Prayer is not in this group.

Classicism n Classicism is an interest in the classics of the Greek and Roman era. People looked back to Greeks and Romans to find their roots, just like we may find our roots in looking back to the people of the Renaissance. We have more in common with the Renaissance than Middle Ages
