Renaissance Artists Characteristics • Renaissance artists were known for their realism • Realism is an ability to create incredible lifelike drawings, paintings, and sculptures • The key to realism is the innovation of proportion and perspective • Proportion: adjust or regulate (something) so that it has a particular or suitable relationship to something else. • Perspective: the art of representing three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other.
