C Drop the ball in the shaded area The shaded area is borderd on one side by a line from the hole through point A and bordered on the other side by a line from the hole through point B and not nearer the hole. The relief area is extended on the “B” side by two club lengths. A player gets two penalty strokes when using this alternative. This means that this relief option is comparable to what could have been achieved if the player had taken the stroke-anddistance option.
