Relative Clauses

• Relative clause’da who, which, that, where, whose gibi Relative pronounlar tanım cümlesinin başında yer alırlar (bazı durumlarda bunlar kullanılmayabilir. ) The businesswoman wants to do business with you. She will come tomorrow. The businesswoman who will come to see you tomorrow wants to do business with you. (Seni yarın görmeye gelecek olan iş kadını seninle iş yapmak istiyor. ) The problem should be solved. It has forced us to postpone the meeting. The problem which has forced us to postpone the meeting should be solved. (Bizi toplantıyı ertelemek zorunda bırakan sorun çözülmeli. )

Önemli İki cümleyi birleştirdiğimizde tanımlanan cümlede, tanımladığımız isim (veya onun yerine kullanılan herhangi bir kelime) yer almaz. The businesswoman who she will come to see you tomorrow wants to do business with you. The problem which it has forced us to postpone the meeting should be solved.

Relative Clauses • Relative Clause’un iki tipi vardır. Bunlar Defining Relative Clause ve Non-Defining Relative Clause’dur. –Defining Relative Clause, gerekli bir bilgiyi veren sıfat cümlesidir. Bu tipte eğer tanım cümlesi yoksa cümlenin anlamı eksik olur. –The woman who will come to see you tomorrow wants to do business with you. –Mr. Jones, who will come to see you tomorrow, wants to do business with you. (Mr. Jones, zaten tanımlı olduğundan, Yarın seni görmeye gelecek olan Mr. Jones fazladan bir bilgidir. )
