Reimagining the Church SUNDAY SERIES
Did God Promis e an End. Time Revival ?
The Coming End Time Awakening Do the scriptures predict a major awakening in the end times? I think so. But 1 st, what do I mean by awakening or revival?
The Coming End Time Awakening • Revival it is not something you plan in your yearly schedule, as many try to do. No, we can pray for revival and position ourselves for it, but only God can send a revival. • Revival is God visiting us… When His spirit comes down in power and brings salvation to the lost, draws His people closer to Himself, and convicts the church of her sin.
The Coming End Time Awakening by Ron Cantor • I wanted to see what The Bible says about the end times’ revival. In fact, this all started when a pastor friend of mine asked, in a public setting, “where does The Bible promise an end-time revival? ” He wasn’t being mean or rude, … his question lingered in my spirit, and so I sat down and wrote. The following is what came forth: ~(He wrote the book in less than a week)
Old Testament Prophets that Saw an End-Time Revival 150 Chapters speaking about the last generation Christ’s Return • Isaiah • Hosea • Haggai • Zechariah • But Joel had perhaps the greatest revelation of the End Time Revival
Acts 2: 15 -21 NLT 15 These people are not drunk, as some of you are assuming. Nine o’clock in the morning is much too early for that. 16 No, what you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel: 17 ‘In the last days, ’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dreams. 18 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike— and they will prophesy.
Acts 2: 15 -21 NLT 19 And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below—blood and fire and clouds of smoke. 20 The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and glorious day of the Lord arrives. 21 But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Joel 2 (NLT) 28 “Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dreams, and your young men will see visions. 29 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike. 30 And I will cause wonders in the heavens and on the earth— blood and fire and columns of smoke.
Joel 2 (NLT) 31 The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and terrible day of the Lord arrives. 32 But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, for some on Mount Zion in Jerusalem will escape, just as the Lord has said. These will be among the survivors whom the Lord has called.
Joel was seeing the generation right before the coming of Jesus
Isaiah 60 1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. 2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Darkness and Light Both God’s glory and deep darkness will increase greatly in the end times. Isaiah 60: 2 highlights the unique dynamics related to an unprecedented outpouring of the Spirit in a victorious Church ( Rev. 19: 7 ) (Bride made herself ready)This will occur in context to escalating darkness and judgment in the generation that Jesus returns. Haggai 2: 7 “…I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations…”
4 common interpretations of the biblical narrative of escalating darkness and glory. 1. Those who proclaim only revival while denying or minimizing the escalating darkness 2. Those who proclaim only the escalating darkness while denying or minimizing revival 3. Those who see prophecies of trouble as being mostly fulfilled in AD 70, or as symbolic 4. Those who proclaim the coming unprecedented revival in context to escalating darkness

The Best for Last John 2: 9 -11 9 When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over.
The Best for Last John 2: 9 -11 10 “A host always serves the best wine first, ” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” 11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory.
The Best for Last I believe there is a prophecy here. For me, it is the only way this story makes sense. It is Yeshua’s first, unexpected, and unplanned miracle. We know that He did many miracles that did not make it into the scriptures according to John 21: 25 , but this one made it into scripture, and it was the first one. The law of first mention. Haggai 2: 9 … the glory of the present greater than the former.
The Best for Last Yeshua is our Bridegroom. He saves the best for last. While this is an interpretation, I think that God is saying that a great move of His Spirit is coming before He returns. It's time to ask yourselves, “has Yeshua saved the best for last? Are we going to see an outpouring even greater than the book of Acts? ”
The Last Outpouring in my opinion must surpass the book of Acts • For those coming from the West, it may be hard to fathom, but we are already seeing a great move of God that has swept more people than Paul ever dreamed existed, into the Kingdom. In China alone, there are many millions of believers, and it's growing like wildfire, even in the midst of tremendous persecution.
The Gospel Herald, Persecuted Chinese Churches Experiencing Holy Spirit, Miracles More Than Ever, New Testament Scholar Reveals • (leader of 5, 000 missionaries underground ) he said, “everything you read about in the book of Acts is happening in China right now. The Spirit of God is at work mightily. Everything you read about in the book of Acts - God is doing today, ” • The country with the greatest number of Christians is China.
The Gospel Herald, Persecuted Chinese Churches Experiencing Holy Spirit, Miracles More Than Ever, New Testament Scholar Reveals • But while persecuted churches across the globe are full of the Holy Spirit, Johnston said many Western churches seem to have "fallen asleep. " • "This winded, out of shape church of the West can't figure out if we want to share all the counsel of God's Word…
The Gospel Herald, Persecuted Chinese Churches Experiencing Holy Spirit, Miracles More Than Ever, New Testament Scholar Reveals • … I'm not surprised that God doesn't work as mightily in a church that's fallen asleep and been lulled asleep. - We need our Church to be awakened, and we need to have a thinking faith to be awakened - where we can see God do the miraculous and trust Him to do that, and we see that reflected right now in the persecuted Church. "
The Promised Latter Rain. So Many Disappointments. When Will We See Joel's Promised Outpouring? • We are now in the 21 st century. We have heard much talk and much preaching concerning an End-Time Revival, also known as 'Joel's Outpouring’, or 'Hosea's Revival'. While we have seen some showers of true Holy Spirit revival in the past century, they have not come anywhere near the glory we see prophesied for the genuine End-Time Revival as we see it outlined for us in the Holy Scriptures. (Joel 2: 28, 29, 30, 31, &32, Isa. 60, Isa. 63 etc. )
The Promised Latter Rain. So Many Disappointments. When Will We See Joel's Promised Outpouring? • The Pentecostal movement itself, which began early in the 20 th century, has faded. It is now just another denomination. And here in this rich nation, the once- glorious Charismatic Renewal is now compromised by mammon (money), and in serious decline. It has been 'bought out' in part by the 'self' movement and turned into a multi-billiondollar-a-year motivational religious business.
The promised latter rain. So many disappointments. When will we see joel's promised outpouring? • Pop psychology, mixed in with quasi-religious hype, is now the main church business. And their bazaars have been set up inside the western church. This is to our shame.
The End Time Revival is Greatly Centered Around Israel • The 2 witnesses of Revelation Chapter 11 are more powerful than the Anti-Christ. They drive the Anti-Christ out of Jerusalem, consumed their attackers with fire from their mouth, prophesy for 3 1/2 years, calling the world to repentance. They can shut up the heavens, turn the water to blood, and during the time of their prophesying, the enemy can't touch them.
The End Time Revival is Greatly Centered Around Israel • My point is simple: the end-times will be difficult, but glorious! There will be a massive end-time revival that is already planned by God, but we must choose to be a part of it. Millions of believers will not. It is a revival that will be met with great persecution and may cost you everything… even your very life.
