State Regulation relating to general Nurse One state regulation is that all nurses have the responsibility of not only providing but improving patient care. This regulation provided in the Nursing Practicing Act (NPA), is meant to offer standardization across states to ensure that all nurses are committed to the same cause (Pace, 2020).
How the Regulation Influences Nurse Role The regulation encourages nurses to remain involved in all aspects of hospital quality such as medication management, patient care, helping with surgeries, data collection, bedside, and reporting (Pace, 2020). Also, nurses are directly responsible for evaluating, monitoring, and assessing patients as well as perform immediate interventions to minimize risk or prevent medical compilations. , The regulation helps the nurses to understand a patient’s understanding of quality. For example, involving a patient’s family when it comes to making critical medical decisions, giving information freely at a level in which they can comprehend, offering effective diagnosis, treatment, and medication as well as continuity of care after discharge.
Regulation Influencing Delivery, Cost and Access to healthcare The role of a nurse is dynamic and requires coordinated care from several providers responsible for managing caseloads of patients with critical care needs as well as helping patients transition out of hospitals and into their homes (Swan et al. , 2020).
Describe at least one state regulation related to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs). Ensure that health clinics, hospitals as well as nursing schools coordinate and work together to ensure patient’s safety and the education of nurses is fully accomplished which usually serves the principle of public protection (Thomas, 2020).
