REGISTRATION v Registration is the process of gathering information from the guest. v It is kind of contractual agreement between the guest and the hotel in which the hotel offers safe and secure boarding and lodging facilities to the guest and the guest accepts the terms and conditions of his stay including the rate and billing agreement. v Registration is done by the receptionist.

METHODS OF REGISTRATION 1. Bound Book The bound book is a big register placed on the reception counter and is used for the purpose of registration in small hotels. 2. Loose Leaf Register This system is almost similar to bound book system with the difference that one new page is used every day.

The card is more mobile and at the time of group arrival a separate group arrival counter can be opened for registration. DISADVANTAGES Relatively expensive and hence this system is prevalent in the large hotel only It can get lost or misplaced, if not stored properly.

Updating A& D register • Arrival and departure register is updated for every arrival and departure in a hotel. As part of post registration activity the arrival side of A&D register is updated by receptionist v. Preparing ‘C’ form • The C form is a mandatory document which is prepared for all foreigner guest and send to FRRO within 24 hours of guest check-in.
