Registration Procedure September 2020 - 2021

1) Fill in Pre-Registration Form • This will trigger your conditional registration • Keep your admission letter at hand • See Student ID and Application Number fields • If possible, fill it in before you depart from your home country

2) Wait for Activation Code Email • 3 -5 working days after submitting the pre-registration form • Follow instructions to activate and gain access to Ø your KU Leuven student account (KU Loket & email address) Ø internet (more instructions available here)

3) Appointment Invitation for Diploma Check • Wait for the invitation to book an appointment for your diploma check • Come in person to present your documents: ü confirmation of your appointment booking ü identification (passport + visa for non-EEA, or ID for EEA) ü original degrees and transcripts • Depending on the zone you arrive from, you might be required to first self-isolate for 14 days.

4) Pick-Up Enrolment Documents • Once your registration is definite and in order, an envelope containing the following documents will be issued: üStudent card üEnrolment certificates üInvoice

Student Card • Front side: • Name student • Duration of enrollment • Student picture • Back side: • Gebruiker = username r 0 xxxxxx • replaces guest account b 0 xxxxxx • Studentennummer = student number • Lezersnummer bibliotheek = Library number • Sportkaart = sports card & Cultuurkaart = culture card • Nvt = not applicable = not subscribed • 2019 -2020 = validity = subscribed • Card lost / stolen / not working = request a new one online

Certificate for Administrative Bodies • Bevolkingsdienst (1) • Required document for registration at the local city office • Shows: • Personal details • Duration of enrollment at KU leuven • Legal base for the duration of your residence card • Health insurance office (2) • Required document for registration at the local health insurance office • Shows: • Personal details • Duration of enrollment at KU leuven • Example: CM, De Voorzorg, VNZ, Symbio… 1 2
