Service Projects • All sites work with the poor and marginalized • Select your TOP 5 choices from the list of 70‐ 80 sites • Online Sign‐Ups (using RJ website) – Seniors – Mid‐October – Juniors – Late October
Service Projects • RJHS Service Project Orientation: November 27 • On‐Site Orientation: November 27 • Boys Service Projects: January 7 – 18, 2019 • Girls Service Projects: January 28 – February 8, 2019 – 60 hours total AND all 10 days minimum • Daily Journal that we will provide • Snow Days – If your site is open and RJHS is closed, you still are expected to be at your site. You work for them. • RJHS DRESS CODE unless the site says otherwise
Upperclassmen Hours • Why do we serve extra hours? – Further deepen the relationships built during Service Projects. – Experience service as a part of everyday life. We expect that RJHS students will pursue excellence in everything they do. • How many? – 25 hours • When are they due? Oct 31 st (of Senior year)

Oct 31 st (of Senior year) • What counts? – Hours MUST be in direct service with the poor and marginalized – it’s about RELATIONSHIPS – Hours served from the moment you ended 10 th Grade – you have 17 MONTHS – Hours beyond your 60 required each year at your Service Project site • How do we keep track? – x 2 VOL! (Service report forms are backup is case your supervisor doesn’t verify online. )
