REFLECTIVE LEARNING JOURNAL By Amanda Rocheleau

MODULE SPECIFIC REFLECTIONS • Module 1 • This learning experience will contribute to my own academic development because taking this course will help me gain knowledge and better understanding how to use technology in the classroom setting. The steps that I will take to make sure that I work to my best ability is that I am always in class and to never be afraid to ask questions when needed. • What I am strongly committed too is always staying on task and always staying on top of my homework, assignments and weekly readings. What I am also strongly committed too is that when it comes to group assignments I am always making sure that everyone is doing their part and that the assignments get handed in.

MODULE SPECIFIC REFLECTIONS • Module 3: • When I google my name I was not surprise about my Facebook page appearing but what I was mostly surprise was when I went to click on the Facebook link all I could see was pictures of me and my family. What I also saw was other people with my name that people may know and want to add to their account. The one thing that I have done and continue to always do is keep my social media very professional because I never want this to reflect on me and potential jobs in the future.

OUT OF THE BOX • What I have learned that relates to my other experience is that when you are out on field placement working as an educational assistant is that patience and understanding is key for students especially when it comes to them working with technology. I have a few students that I work with and I spend time with them on the computer working on their reading skills, writing skills and building their vocabulary and what I have noticed is sometimes they get frustrated with the computer and that’s when I like to step in and be able to help my students. • Some difficulties that I may have and need to learn how to overcome them is by taking deep breathes and staying positive and tell myself that “I can do it” or even “I believe I can” because I have difficulties sometimes with test anxiety and it does not matter how hard I study for a test because I manage to blank our and than I will get a rash on my chest and arms. How I learned how to deal with it, is by first accepting that I do have test anxiety and that I need to try my very best and give myself a week or more to study for a test.
