Reflective Feedback – What it IS Cloze Activity Answers REFLECTIVE FEEDBACK… 1. promotes reflection as part of a dialog between the giver and receiver of feedback. 2. focuses on observed behavior rather than on the person. 3. is descriptive rather than judgmental. 4. is specific rather than general. 5. is directed toward behaviors that the receiver can change.

Revision Example Change the Instructional Mode to Independent. It appears from the lesson objective you want the students to PRACTICE the skill until mastery. Might you consider changing the instructional mode from teacher directed, whole group to INDEPENDENT? Independent is the mode where you can provide a safe zone for kids to practice, in class, until mastery with your over-the-shoulder, in the moment, support.
Revision Example Your lesson plan states that “there is no homework. ” Might you consider recreating today’s in-class, independent assignment into a homework assignment that has the same directions and the same amount of math problems? Might you consider just changing the integers which will allow you to further check for transfer, understanding and skill mastery?
Revision Example Way to go, this plan is fabulous! Based on the descriptions of the modifications and accommodations the plan includes for your IEP students, like reducing the number of test items and lengthening testing time, this basic lesson plan seems much stronger and more likely to accomplish the objective that all students demonstrate they can multiply 2 digit numbers.
