Your challenge is to free draw a map of Europe that includes the home countries (and some cities) of the Renaissance masters we have been discussing. It does not have to be exact so don’t agonize if your map doesn’t look perfect… as long as the shapes are generally the same you will be fine! Assignment Reminders The most important thing is that you are neat and that you try! The goal is for you to build your basic geography knowledge and learn where places are in relation to each other. By looking at maps closely and transferring information, you are more likely to have a better understanding of this part of the world and keep this information in your long-term memory. Europe is important not only to understand the Renaissance but to understand which countries colonized which parts of the United States… 8 th grade history!

Use these maps as a reference point. You do not need to copy all the information from these maps on your map—just those from the assignment. Reference Maps Find the place names on the assignment worksheet and use these maps to draw those places on your map of Europe. Start by drawing a general outline of the whole continent before you draw in specific countries/cities. If you get frustrated or need help locating something on your map, get in touch with your teacher on Teams chat.
