Problems we are addressing • The UK produces around 10 million tonnes of packaging waste per year, most of which is disposed of in landfill sites. Packaging accounts for between 7 and 10 percent of the UK’s annual waste. (Scottish Environmental Protection Agency 2014) • Seven million tonnes of food waste are thrown away in the UK every year (Love Food Hate Waste 2014)
