Red Ribbon Week October 24 -28, 2016 October 20 th is National Writing Day • Essay/Poem: Students will be encouraged to participate in writing a poem/essay that has an Anti-Drug message. Essays Due Tuesday, October 25, 2016. • Carved Pumpkin Contest Due on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 • Door Decorating Contest (inside) – Doors will be judged on Thursday, October 27, 2016. • Can Drive – the class who collects the most cans will win a pizza party. Final Pick up will be on Friday, October 28, 2016. (Half Day Pre. K will have an a. m. and p. m. pick up).
Dear Parents: Next week we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Please encourage your children to participate in the schoolwide activities throughout the week. The theme will be “One School One Goal-Bully and Drug Free” • • Can Drive Carved Pumpkin Contest Essay/Poem Contest Door Decorating Monday: “Be a JEAN-ious” Students and staff will wear all jean attire to show that they are too smart for bullies and drugs. Tuesday : “I’d Be Crazy To Do Drugs” Students and staff may wear crazy socks and hair. Begin brainstorming on how to carve your pumpkin! Pumpkins Due Wednesday. Essay/Poem Contest Due Today: During class, students will be encouraged to write a poem/essay with an Anti-Drug message. Wednesday: Thursday : “We Can Walk Away and Stomp Out Bullies and Drugs” Students and staff will Friday: “Team Up Against Bullies and “I pledge to be Bully and Drug Free” wear mismatched shoes. Carve Drugs and Bullying out of School! Students will bring a carved pumpkin from home. Get creative! Please make sure your child’s name and your phone number is on the pumpkin. Pumpkins will be judged and returned on Friday. Drugs” Students will wear any team jersey to show their commitment to team up against Bullies and drugs. Classroom doors will be judged. Prizes will be as follows: 1 st place – Ice Cream Party and Free Dress 2 nd place – Popcorn Party and Free Dress 3 rd place – Free dress Everyone is encouraged to wear RED from head to toe. Final Can Pick Up – Winning Class will be announced today. The class with the most cans will win a pizza party. Cans will be donated to families in our community.
