Red Flags Checklist for Richie • • Red Flags to watch out for because they can lead to relapse… • Area One: • When Richie does not stick to the computer rule for 5 straight days or more as seen by the following: – Arguments about the computer rule – Attempts to get around the password – Attempts to use the computer at grandmother's house – Area Two: • Any case of violent incidents at school or in the streets – Because of the serious nature of this red flag, parents will contact PLL coach immediately! – Area Three: • IN case of any of the following unhealthy “dances” – Richie begins to press the “feeling sorry for Richie” button of his parents and parents begin to give in and not stick to the contract – Mom keeps Richie home from school because something bad happened elsewhere – Richie reports feeling sick and can’t go to school 3 days in a row and mom gives in and calls school to report Richie is sick What to do when the red flags appear… • First, Parents will talk privately about their concerns, look at the contract, and specify what they can do to sharpen it. • Second, Parents will review the following healthy undercurrents to insure they have not neglected any of them • Third, Parents will have a family meeting with Richie to remind of the true purpose of the contract (to manage his behavior and inject healthy undercurrents into the family system Call Back: May 3, 2011
