RECONCILIATION Reconciliation: To reconcile is to change from opposition to friendship. The restoration of a broken relationship. Man needs to have the relationship that was lost in the fall to be restored.
RECONCILIATION v n n Man must be reconciled to God thought the death of Jesus Christ. Rom 5: 8 -11 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!
RECONCILIATION n n Rom 5: 8 -11 For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were RECONCILED to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received RECONCILIATION.
JESUS THE RECONCILER v Mans need is to be reconciled to his Creator. He has no way of accomplishing this on his own. It had to be done for him, and God accomplished this through the Cross.
RECONCILIATION n n Eph 2: 14 -18 For he himself is our peace who has made the two one an has destroyed the barrier, that dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his fresh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.
RECONCILIATION n n Eph 2: 14 -18 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
Making the two one n The two men in this passage represent the Jew and the Gentile. Gods people, the Jew and those who were far off the Gentiles. He reconciled them together into one body, THE CHURCH, HIS BODY OF BELIEVERS, THE FAITHFUL.
RECONCILIATION Jesus’ death provided the means to reconcile both Jew & Gentile to God, and to each other, in the CHURCH the one body. v Jesus’ death provided the means to reconcile all people in the one body, the Church to God. v
RECONCILIATION n n Col 1: 19 -23 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
RECONCILLIATION n n Col 1: 19 -23 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation – if you continue in your faith, established and firm not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I Paul have become a servant.
RECONCILIATION v v Not only has the cross reconciled you, but he has cleaned you up and made you Holy, innocent, and pure. What a God! We have been redeemed, reconciled, and made righteous “IN CHRIST”. This of course is speaking of those who have obeyed the Gospel, and are IN CHRIST.
RECONCILIATION n n 2 Cor 5: 18 -21 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself “IN CHRIST”, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. WE are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf:
RECONCILIATION n n v 2 Cor 5: 18 -21 Be reconciled to God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that “IN HIM” we might become the righteousness of God has reconciled man to himself, and gave the Apostles the ministry of reconciliation. God through the message of the Gospel is entreating, estranged, sinful mankind to be RECONCILED. This is the mission of the Church today and for each Child of God.
RECONCILIATION v Mans need was for reconciliation, and God provided it through the Cross of Christ. Everyone is invited to be reconciled to God, forgiven of their sins, and made Holy. Our lives are not complete until we are in a right relationship with the God that loved us so much, that he in the person of Jesus died to redeem us.
RECONCILIATION n Every man /women has a choice to make, We can either choose to be reconciled, or not. If we chooses not to be reconciled to God, we will stay lost, and receive the wrath of God. The wages of Sin is death, and payday will arrive someday.
