Receptionist triage COVID-19 • Please ask all patients either on the phone or when they present at reception: “have you travelled overseas in the past 14 days? ” • If the response is yes, ensure mask is applied
Is the patient well or unwell? • Ask the patient if they are unwell? • If the patient answers - Yes – I am unwell: 1. isolate in isolation room with mask fitted 2. notify GP and nursing staff • If the patient answers – I am well: 1. ask the patient if they have visited a HIGH RISK country 2. if the answer is YES 3. isolate in isolation room with mask fitted 4. notify GP and nursing staff
If the patient has NOT visited a high risk country 1. Allow the patient to wait in waiting room with mask fitted properly 2. Notify GP and nursing staff
If the response is NO to travel overseas in the past 14 days 1. Ask the patient if they are unwell. 2. If the answer is YES 3. Ask the patient if they have been in contact with anybody suspected of having coronavirus
If patient has been in contact with a suspected COVID-19 case • isolate in isolation room with mask fitted • notify GP and nursing staff
If patient has NOT been in contact with a suspected COVID-19 case • Allow the patient to wait in waiting room (no mask required) • Usual care
