Educational Research 2 e: Creswell Q and A 1. What do you remember about

Educational Research 2 e: Creswell Q and A 1. What do you remember about writing the Rationale? 2. What is the difference between rationale and Significance of the study? 3. What should be in the Appendices, describe each?

The Rationale of the Study • This section in a research paper provides ideas

The Rationale of the Study • This section in a research paper provides ideas and background that caused the researcher to undergo the study. It may be composed of 3 to 5 paragraphs or a total of 1 -2 pages only • The first paragraph presents an opening statement or a general idea or information about the main IDEA. It will expound the statement justifying the study. • The second paragraph (may be composed of two) should revolve around the scope and coverage of the study. It presents the prevailing scenario or current situation of the environment or the elements being studied by presenting statistics or data as situationaires. • Third paragraph usually challenges the readers to become interested in the findings of the study. This will bridge the whole rationale to the problem statement. • A maximum of three sentences may form part of the compelling reasons and possible outcomes of the study.

Example: The Implementation of the 11 th Grade Senior High School Program Academic Track

Example: The Implementation of the 11 th Grade Senior High School Program Academic Track in Science Technology Education Center (STEC): An Action Plan Rationale The Philippines is the only country in Asia and is one of only three countries in the world, alongside Djibouti and Angola of Africa with a tenyear basic education cycle. Specifically, a 12 -year program is found to be the adequate period for learning under basic education and is a requirement for recognition of professionals abroad following the Bologna and Washington Accords (International Engineering Alliance, 2010).

Educational Research 2 e: Creswell Improving the quality of education for global competency really

Educational Research 2 e: Creswell Improving the quality of education for global competency really looks good, but the implementation of the system will be a challenge for the government to pursue. While Senior High School program prepares the student with skills essential for the field of working, it will cost the country a tidy sum of money. According to some Filipino economists, “K 12 is a must for our country, but sadly to say we are not yet ready for it. The current condition of our education sector makes it impractical. Increasing the number of years will not make things better, it’ll just worsen things. ” In response to these negative thoughts, Sec. Armin Luistro (2014) said “Indeed, Dep. Ed is in lack in budget for the implementation of K-12 but increasing the budget of the government on education can resolve this issue. ” There is no harm in a society prioritizing education of its people, for Education is one of the essentials of an effective society, he added (Seamo-Innotech, 2010).

As a matter of preparation to the full implementation of Senior High School

As a matter of preparation to the full implementation of Senior High School Program, Dep. Ed Lapu-Lapu City Division strengthens its advocacy on the program through consultation with stakeholders, parent’s assemblies and forums to target clienteles as well as staging a career expo. Noteworthy enough, the Lapu-Lapu City mayor has pledged a hefty amount of budget for the Senior High School program. The City Lights Industrial Park (local based industry in Lapu-Lapu) has organized a writing workshop to prepare the modules/worksheets for the Senior High School program. Qualified teachers from Junior High School, Industry and Higher Education Institutions were hired to complement the high demand for competent teachers. The Science Technology Education Center (STEC) in Basak, Lapu-Lapu City division is one of the ten implementing schools for Senior High School Academic Tracks: STEM, ABM), Humanities, HUMSS, and GAS. STEC as a pioneering science school in Lapu-Lapu City is known for its quality academic training and standards.

Educational Research 2 e: Creswell Since the roll-out of Senior High School Program in

Educational Research 2 e: Creswell Since the roll-out of Senior High School Program in Lapu City Division particularly in STEC, there has no study that has been made on assessing the implementation of the Senior High School Program. It is in the aforementioned rationale that the researcher who is a research enthusiast and Senior High School research teacher in STEC finds it necessary to assess the status of the implementation of STEC SSHS academic track so that whatever findings are made maybe utilized to improve the SHS program in action planning, policy formulation and development.
