Realistic Self Portraits Project Drawing Yourself to the Best of Your Ability
11. 12. 2019 Day 1 of 3 Self-Portraits Try to get everything outlined today – face shape, eye shape, nose shape, lip shape, ears, could outline hair – wait to shade till you have a single light source photo and change to black & white • We will be starting our self-portraits today • You will have 3 class periods on this project(today, Thursday and due at the end of class Monday – if you need extra time on it you can take it home for home work) • Project Expectations: • Accurate proportions: the face shape – 2/3 s width from height • • Eyes – 1/5 spacing between edge of face, eyes, and between nose Eyes- half way down on the face Nose – half way between eyes and chin Lips(middle of lips) – half way between nose and chin • Face shape is your face shape, same goes for your eyes, ears, lip, and nose • Shading is accurate – one light source photo (you can take this today if you’d like to work from a photo instead of a mirror) • Try your best! The only way YOU can improve is if you try your best every time, also ASK(always seek knowledge) for help if you need it

Open studio hours after school once a week?
Painting 2 - 11. 2019 • Try to get your first coat of the crackle media down if you haven’t yet • If you have the 1 st coat down, add the 2 nd coat of crackle media • Next step – when it’s all dry add watercolor to the background • Finish pet/animal portrait today • Solid background or a pattern • Pet image painted on top in a contrasting color or a color that will stand out from the background • Light source added to eyes – white reflection dot to bring your animal to life • Next class – mixed media techniques with Mrs. Winterbottom!
Day 4 of 13 Day Project • Please take out your sketchbooks and start working on day 4 • Please don’t use the backside of pages, start on a fresh page • I will come around the room and grade Day 3 • If you added more to your 13 day project plan, I can increase your score for that in the gradebook • Forgot your book – find some drawing paper or watercolor paper in class to work on, we can glue it in
