Reciprocal Reading helps the child to make sense of how sounds, words and sentences

Reciprocal Reading helps the child to make sense of how sounds, words and sentences come together and make stories. All stories have a message and during our reading lessons we encourage the children to explore the story in depth. We look at pictures, talk about the author and illustrator, look at the blurb and make predictions. We also talk about the favourite and least favourite part of the story. The most important message is that reading is fun!
