Fact and Opinion • A statement of fact tells something that can be proved true or false. Even if it is false, it is still a statement of fact- stated as a fact, but incorrect. These statements can be checked by reading, observing, or asking an expert. • A statement of opinion tells a person’s ideas or feelings. It cannot proved true or false. It should involve thoughtful judgment.
