Read the passage below One afternoon Toms parents
Read the passage below: One afternoon, Tom’s parents took him to the park. Paul liked to go there, but he disliked the ride by bus. There were swings, a slide, seesaws and ropes for climbing in the park. Tom’s father pushed him hard on the swing and he went very high in the air. But he liked the slide the most. It was fun going down the slide, but a little scary too!

Once upon a time, there was a foolish farmer. He has a daughter. She is beautiful and clever. One day, the farmer went to the palace and started to show off. He said to the king, “I have a daughter and she is gorgeous!” But the king took no notice. So the farmer said, “She is smart too! She can… spin straw into gold!” Now the king loved gold. He was happy to hear that. “Oh-ho!” he said. “I’d like to see your daughter!”
So, the farmer hurried home and told his daughter that the king wanted to see her. But, when the girl got to the palace, the king took her to a room where there was a pile of straw and a spinning-wheel. “Spin the straw into gold!” he said. And he went off. The girl was afraid as she didn’t know what to do. She began to cry…
Then, a little man jumped through the window. He was short and strange. “Beautiful girl, ” he said, “why are you crying? ” “I must spin this straw into gold, ” she answered. “And I don’t know how to do it. ” “What will you give me if I can do it for you, ” the little man said. “My necklace, ” she said. And she gave it to him.
The little man sat down. The spinning-wheel whirled round and round, and the straw was spun into gold. Then, with a skip and a jump, the little man was gone! When the king saw the gold, he was pleased. He thought, “This girl is clever and beautiful!” So, he asked her to marry him and the farmer’s daughter became the queen. And they lived happily ever after.
