termination of the Prohibition "Author F. Scott Fitzgerald captured the energy, turmoil and disillusion of the decade in his short stories and novels such as The Great Gatsby. "(Clash of Cultures) This led to the termination of the prohibition because the novel brought the government to the realization that the turmoil and disillusion of the decade was because of the prohibition because people were always trying to get alcohol. The only way to get it was illegally, unless you had a prescription for it. It showed this in the Great Gatsby because on of theories of how "The Great Gatsby" got all of his money is from selling alcohol illegally. Which made the government react to it by getting rid of the prohibition.
