What do we know are the risks? Just 17 days absence over one school year relates to one GCSE grade lost A day a week missed means that a child or young person would miss out on a whole year of learning throughout their school life. Children and young people dissengaged from learning are at a high risk of becoming involved in anti -social behaviour and/or crime and drugs Just 10 minutes late every day means a child or young person misses 33 hours learning in a year?
