Skew Clear QC Is working but requires work, including software ( Flavio) install in rack with a new PC etc , to make robust. Test cables waiting in 904. Require space in 904 in the corridor outside AC labs. The signal cable company have been requested to make this test but if they do not like the installation then we must do this. HV Connector Cable needs are 2. 1 km. In stock are 3. 1 km. 3 pole CPE connector, old design with Stycast potting 144 Cables plus some flying spares to use through out the system for repairs and debugging Cables & Cooling Ian Crotty 20/Nov/12
HV Cable and Connectors Do we continue with this connector or go for the new development. Cable production was started for the sites. Trigger Cables (& Fibres) • 12 new LBB crates each with 4 LV cables (2. 5 V & 3. 3 V) from the Caen 3016. The cable is in the ISR. • The signal fibres from the LBB to the USC are already in place, only 50%used. • New “Double” fibres (80) are needed from each tower thru’ the Mini Cable Chains to YE 1 Fibre PP. • TTC fibres on YE 3. • Ethernet cable ring on each yoke. • The new LBB will not need the add on regulator with its associated cabling. Schedule Services installation planned for 13 May-11 July 2013. Access to non IP side YE+3 19 Aug for 26 days Access to non IP side YE-3 30 Sept – 1 Nov Access 2 Oct – 18 Oct on YE+3 Cables to be made by Russian cabling team. Gas & Cooling to be installed by ZEC. We will complete the elements from the bulkheads to the chambers. Details for cooling, gas and cables to be discussed and planned in the TC LS 1 workshop next week. Questions and Conclusions • • • No new cable types so no new CERN approvals required. Plenty of resources will be needed, >1000 cables. The cable space allocated in 904 will be used. Signal cables made with previous company near Neuchatel. QA & QC procedures are understood for each cable type. • All cable types are in drum form, require connectorising, (including procurement of connectors) • Costing will come from full component list. Cooling The design is done by Dan from CSC. The provision of components to link the chamber to the Bulkheads is dealt with by Dick Loveless. Piping on chambers supplied by India. Cooling Conclusions The cooling is looking fine. Integration done by 904 team. Still necessary to do tests on the Super Module to come up with acceptable leak rates and refine the procedure. ZEC will install the pipe work (Gas & Cooling) on the yoke. RPC community must make the connections from the manifolds to the chambers. Cables & Cooling Ian Crotty 20/Nov/12
