Chute Read Drill Explanation: Teach RB’s the 2 nd level cut with a reach on the open area. Point of Emphases: Read the coach and make the cut. Stay low no matter what! 1. Agile Bags Drill Explanation: Athleticism and balance. Drill: Agile Bags Set Up: Agile bags spaced out 2 -3 feet to the count of about 5. Point of Emphases: 1. State Street Road Drill Explanation: Protecting the ball, cutting off the outside foot. Good fundamental football. Drill: Whistle starts. Back proceeds down the path of the “gauntlet”. Protect the ball with 4 points of pressure. Cut of the outside foot. Lower the shoulder in to contact. Bags: Give back direction to cut. B’s: Give back a shot up high. RB 2 Pass Pro Drill Explanation: Pass protection for backs. Working the inside the hole block as well as the outside ride block. Drill: RB 2 Pass Pro Drill Technique: Elbows in tight and thumbs up. 1. Block one and two. B 2. Head on the inside. A 3. Ride outside on #2 with sometime. G 4. RB Agile & Stiff Arm Drill Explanation: Athleticism, Ball security and balance. Drill: Agile, Stiff Arm Drill Point of Emphases: Punch with elbow inside tight! 1. RB takes off chopping feet over the agile bags. 2. Back will stiff arm helmet stick at the end. 3. Back cuts back around the cone to the start. End: Back of line once done. Banded Ball Security Drill Explanation: Working ball security and emphasizing the 5 points of pressure. Drill: Banded Ball Security Drill Point of Emphases: Ball Security. 1. Player reacts to coaches commend. 2. Squeeze the ball with 5 points of pressure. 3. Move to anyone of the 3 cones for a count of 3 -4. Note: Add resistance band to ball security harness. Running Backs Agility Cone Drill (1 -21)

L-Drill Add a bag for “Ball security” L-Drill: Start at one (1) sprint to cone (2). round cone (2) sprint back to cone (1), round cone (1), then sprint to cone (3), round cone (3) and sprint back past one (1). Several vacations may be used. #1

Nebraska Agility Drill N-Drill: Start at cone (1). Sprint to and around cone (2). Sprint to and around cone (3). Sprint through finish line. Several vacations may be used. #2

4 Cone Cross Pattern Drill 4 Cone-Drill: Start at cone (1) and follow arrows and cones in order. Changing the exercise at each turn is also possible. Several vacations may be used. #3

D-Drill: Start at cone (1) and sprint to cone (2). From cone (2), shuffle around cones (3) and (4), finish back at cone (1). Several vacations may be used. Add a bag for “Ball security” #4

Box-Drill: Start at cone (1) and follow path around cones, some times rounding the corner and some times making the corner a sharp 90 degrees. Some variations might include Sprint, BL, Shuffle, Carioca, Bound, HK, Lunge, Power Skip or anything one can think of. #5

X-Drill: Start at cone (1) sprinting towards (4) once at cone (4) grab tennis ball on the top and sprint to cone (2) placing the ball from cone (4) on cone (2). Then sprint to cone (3) once at cone 3 grad ball on the top and spring to cone (1) placing ball from cone (3) to cone (1). #6

5 Cone-Drill: Start at cone (1) and follow arrows and cones in order. Some variations might include Sprint, BL, Shuffle, Carioca, Bound, HK, Lunge, Power Skip or anything one can think of. #7

5 Cone Cross-Drill: Start at cone (1), run to the left side of he center cone, make a right turn around the center cone and run towards cone (2). Run to the right of cone (2) run around it back to the left side of the center cone, make a right turn around the center cone and run towards cone (3). Follow the same pattern until back to cone (1). #8

Minnesota-Drill: Start at cone (1) and follow arrows and cones in order. Some variations might include Sprint, BL, Shuffle, Carioca, Bound, HK, Lunge, Power Skip or anything one can think of. #9

5 Cone Star-Drill: Start at cone (1) and sprint to each cone in chronological order, finishing the drill at the point of origin. Some variations might include Sprint, BL, Shuffle, Carioca, Bound, HK, Lunge, Power Skip or anything one can think of. #10

5 Yard Figure 8 -Drill 5 yard Fig. 8 -Drill: Start at cone (1). Sprint to and around cone (2), then back to and around the first cone. The best variation would be to face forward and shuffle. #11

6 Cone-Drill: Start at the bottom right cone. Follow the path of arrows around the cones, making sharp cuts at each corner. Some variations might include Sprint, BL, Shuffle, Carioca, Bound, HK, Lunge, Power Skip or anything one can think of. #12

7 Cone Star-Drill 7 Cone Start-Drill: Start at cone (1), and sprint to cone (7). Continue in this order until a full circle is completed and you finish at cone (1). 2 nd time through just flip direction. Adding a Tennis ball will make drill more challenging. #13

8 Cone Agility-Drill: Start at cone (1) sprint around cone (2) to cone (3). Weave through cones (4) and (5), and around cone (6). Weave back through cones (5) and (4). Sprint around cone (3) to cone (7), and finish by sprinting to cone (8). #14

12 Cone-Drill: Start at the bottom right cone (1). Sprint down around cone (2) up to cone (3). Weave through cones (4), (5) and (6). Go around cone (6) and up to one (7). Weave back through cones (8), (9) and (10). Sprint from cone (10) to and around cone (11). Finally sprint to the end at cone (12). #15

Back Peddle Sprint-Drill BP Sprint-Drill: Start by facing backwards at cone (1), and BP to cone (2). Sprint to cone (3). BP to cone (4). Sprint to cone (5), and finish by BP to cone (6). #16

RB Mirror-Drill Mirror Drill – 2 x’s both ways RB Mirror-Drill: This drill takes 2 players. There is an offensive player and a defensive player. To begin, players face one another. The goal of the offensive player is to make it from start to finish by trying to juke the defensive player. The offensive player will run laterally and the defensive player will sprint and be allow to catch up. #17

Shuttle Cone-Drill Shuttle Cone Drill: Stat at cone (1), sprint 5 yards to cone (2) and back. This process repeats so on building. #18

Y-Drill: Start at one (1) sprint around cone (2), then go around (3) under (2) and back to (4). Then come back to finish on the other side of where you start at cone (1). Variations might include length and direction. #20

Shuffle both feet in each hole twice 3. Pivot off down hand 4. Keep ball high and tight with 4 points of pressure! End: All they around and out through the cones! Pattern Mirror Drill Explanation: Athleticism, Change of direction and balance. Drill: Pattern Mirror Drill Set up: 2 5 x 5 boxes with a cone and a ball on the side. Point of Emphases: 1. Pattern (Blue) creates the pattern to be followed by the mirror (Red). Go to what ever cone you want and touch it! Mirror must copy path. 2. Coach starts the drill on the whistle. 3. Drill goes for : 20 -: 30 on coach 4. Drills end by leaving your box and raising for he ball. End: Pattern, Mirror to back of line. “On whistle” Coach #22
