Recommended Policy Change to EIC (Local) Rank points shall be determined by multiplying each semester grade of a ranked course by a rank factor, which recognizes differences in levels of difficulty between Advanced Placement (AP), Pre-AP, and regular coursework. Recommended Policy Change to EIC (Local) For students entering grade 9 in the 2021 -22 school year, and beyond, only students in the top ten percent shall receive a rank and their GPA on the student transcript at the fourth, preliminary sixth, sixth and seventh semesters. All students will have access to their GPA information using Skyward Student Access and/or Family Access.
Adjustment to the AP Limit The proposal will include permitting ninth and tenth graders to take a maximum of three AP credits within their first two years. Course prerequisites restrictions will apply to all course work.
Next Steps The EIC (Local) rank policy changes will be presented to: üExecutive Staff üCluster Presentations üNEISD Board of Trustees If Board approved, the EIC (Local) rank policy would be effective for the today’s seventh graders who will enter high school in 2021.
