Date: 8 June 2019 Venue: Mjölnir Estate, Plot 24 Elandsdrift Road, Muldersdrift GPS Co-ordinates : E 28° 29'9. 05" S 25° 57'16. 26" Distance: 5 km, 10 km, 20 km, 40 km - Only riders that have qualified through previous DRASA rides or 40 km ERASA (Endurance) Rides will be allowed to enter the 40 km Ride Entry 5 km – R 150 10 km – R 200 20 km – R 250 40 km – R 300 PRE-ENTRIES CLOSE ON THE 5 th OF JUNE AT 13 H 00 Payment MUST be done with entry before 12 H 00 on the 5 th of June. Please note: All Non- SAEF members need to pay a temporary membership fee of R 150 for the day. Very Important Information! 40 km – Only riders who have qualified at previous DRASA rides or 40 km Endurance (ERASA) rides will be allowed to enter the 40 km trail. Please provide proof. Riders with no rider books or passports for the horses must present proof of inoculations. We are using the Compulsory Hold System: 20 min to vet after each loop followed by a 40 min resting time. Please note DRASA rules state the horse must be present with a heartrate of 60 bpm or less after each loop. Pre-vetting and Horsemanship judging will open at 16 h 00 on Friday for the 40 km riders. All entries must be paid by Wednesday 5 th of June at 12 h 00. Unfortunately no late entries will be accepted. Please enter on www. drasa. org. za Riders are allowed one ride as non-SAEF and DRASA members, but R 150, 00 levy will be added to these riders’ entry fees. Limited paddocks available (12), please bring your own paddocks. Limited ablutions (no showers) available for campers. The Club house will sell food.
Programme – What to do at DRASA Ride Saturday: • • On arrival get your number and envelope from ride secretary at the Club house. 8 h 15 Riders briefing. Do pre-vet and pre-ride horsemanship judging. Vets and Judges will be available from 9 am. On Saturday and 5 pm Friday (for 40 km riders only). Take your horse in a halter to the vet – Remember your vet card! Tack your horse up, put on your full riding gear, bib and hard hat and present to horsemanship Judge – remember your scorecard. After judging make sure your horse has enough grass and water in their paddock. • • Saddle up and make sure to be ready 10 min before your departure time, gather in the warm up area. The starter and timekeeper will call your name and tell you when you can start. Ride your route. After you have finished your loop, groom your horse and make sure to present to the vet within 20 min after you have finished your loop. Rest yourself and your horse, make sure to provide roughage and water for your horse and take care of yourself by drinking water and eating something. Start your second loop when called; remember your time starts when your rest period (40 min) is over. Ride second loop. • • •
