Using the Randa Tower Mobile App �This is your digital clipboard �Communicates with the web site �Allows you to collect classroom data �Do not have to be connected to Internet to script an observation in the App �If typing is difficult for you, you can skip using the App and rely on the web site management program �Invest in Bluetooth keyboard case for i. SYNCHRONIZE �Most important thing to remember about the mobile App is to • You must be connected to the Internet for synchronization to take place. • You cannot manage data from the web site until you synchronize.

Randa Tower Web Site �The web site is your teacher evaluation management system. �Allows administration of process and clean up of notes �Allows you to schedule, communicate with teachers, score, write reinforcement & refinement goals �Collects all the evaluation information for your schools and the district and communicates and syncs this information with the state TEAM site.

Schedule An Observation �Click on the EDUCATORS tab on top menu �You can search for teacher name or simply scroll down the list. �Select an educator and click on their name �Click the Schedule Observation button

Schedule an Observation �If this is an announced observation, check the box to notify the teacher �You DO NOT have to pre-schedule to do an observation �Teacher will receive notification by email if you check the box �Teacher will also see they have a message on the Randa Tower site.

Conducting the Observation �Start the Randa Mobile App �Synchronize with web site �Click START OBSERVATION �You can either start with the Educator List or the My Schedule Tab (upper right hand corner) �Start an Observation

Conducting an Observation �Click the yellow START button to start the timer �Use the blue to timestamp each “chunk” of instruction �Shortcut buttons allow you to choose CLASS, STUDENT, TEACHER to begin your scripting �As you script, continue to use the time stamp �There is no limit to the amount of script or time stamps.

Categorizing Information by Domains �As you look at each timestamp, click to highlight �Select appropriate domains on the right �Click apply for each “chunk” of scripting �Easy to delete if you incorrectly categorize a portion �You can switch to SUMMARY VIEW to see all your notes at one time. �You can click on the blue arrows to see your notes for that “chunk” of the observation.

Scoring the Observation �When you finish categorizing by domains, click NEXT �You have a choice whether or not to score the observation on your i. Pad or finalize. Most will probably not have time immediately following the observation. �Your information is automatically saved on the i. Pad and you can come back later to score here as long as you do not hit COMPLETE.

Scoring the Observation �If you choose to score later through the web site, click COMPLETE. �You will still be able to see this observation and your scripting on the i. Pad but in READ ONLY format.

Scoring on the Web Site �If you have not synchronized, you will not be able to see your scripted and categorized notes from the i. Pad. �Click on EDUCATORS and select the person who has been observed. �Click the START button next to the observation you completed. �Click on each domain to assign a score. �When you are finished, click FINALIZE. �You will need to check whether or not you want the teacher to immediately see the scores.

Reinforcement & Refinement �Once you click finalize, you will only be able to access the file in READ ONLY �To write in the areas for Refinement and Reinforcement, you will click on TEAM POST OBSERVATION CONFERENCE – then click the clipboard to the right. �This form has all three categories – Planning, Environment, and Instruction. Scroll down to find Instruction.

Reinforcement & Refinement �Use the drop down menu to select the indicator you will address. Type your comments into the comment box. �I would also advise you to wait until you receive the educators self scores before you finalize this part. �Before you finalize the observation, you will need to sign with your PIN NUMBER.

Pin Number �At the top of the web site, right hand corner, you will see your name. Click the arrow and choose USER SETTINGS. �Click SHOW PIN �You will have to put in your Randa Tower password to show your pin number. This will be your own unique signature for each observation. �This is also a good time to CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD.
