Aim of RAINBOW our project – to OF involve FOOD more students into a healthy diet. Most people need to increase the amount of fruits and vegetables they eat every day.
The more colours you can combine, the better
"The Rainbow Diet“ was founded by Dr. Eric Braverman. Colorful fruits and vegetables, full of vitamins and minerals, help maintain your organs and immune system, keeping your body strong.

Red food -reduce the risk of breast, skin, and prostrate cancer reduce the risk of heart attack -get you moving -get you extra boost -protect you from many serious illnesses
Orange and yellow food -important for vision and bone growth -regulate the immune system -reduce the risk of heart attack and cancer - improve your powers of concentration -orange foods are brain food - make you more optimistic
Green food - defend against cancer, heart disease, nerve disease - maintain good vision -reduce the risks of cataracts - keep your teeth and bones strong and healthy - keep your emotions under control
Blue and purple food -improve memory - reduce the risks of cancer, heart attack, diabetic complications - help control high blood pressure - slow the effects of aging - blue foods are soothing - make people more creative
White food -good for lowering cholesterol and blood pressure - white fruits and vegetables may also help with allergies
How much is a portion? -An apple, banana or orange -One slice of melon, mango or pineapple -One handful of grapes -One tablespoon of dried fruit -A glass of fruit juice -A side salad -A serving of vegetables -Cooked dishes of vegetables Five a day
Here's a typical plan: 1. Glass of fresh orange juice for breakfast = one portion 2. Small pack of dried apricots for midmorning snack = one portion 3. Side salad with lunch = one portion 4. Sugar snap peas and broccoli, served with main meal = one portion 5. Strawberries as dessert = one portion
