Project background The Northwich Diversion route was cleared to W 8 gauge to enable freight traffic to be diverted allowing for access on the Liverpool to Manchester line to carry out electrification works. This involved 5 track lowers at 4 bridges.
Project contracts • GRIP 3 -8 – NR 4 for GRIP 3 -5 – NR 9 for GRIP 6 -8 • Project came off the back of Liverpool to Manchester (phase 1) which was a number of track lowers on the line being electrified • Contract value – Northwich Diversion circa £ 600 k – Total value of Liverpool to Manchester and Northwich Diversion circa £ 1 million • Project awarded 17 weeks before 1 st core possession • The work was delivered in November 2011

OB 45 & OB 46 – Up Main OB 45 OB 46 • The Track Lower at both OB 45 & 46 on the Up main was carried out during the same 54 hr possession • This allowed for efficiencies in both Engineering Trains, Tamping resource and Plant

My role • Developing the engineering plan around the available resource • Production of engineering and safety documentation – – Construction Phase Plan Work Package Plans Task Briefing Sheets Deliverability presentation for the client • Assisting the Project Manager – Internal and Client progress meetings – Change Control • Working as a ‘Engineer’ during the works • Hand back of the sites, compiling the Health and Safety files
