§ Counselors love writing letters of recommendation for students, but they also love having information to write about. § Your homeroom teacher is going to pass out a form that Letters of Recommendation from your Counselor the counselors would like for you to fill out and turn back in so that we know a little more about you. § Please provide as much information as possible and answer all the questions to the best of your ability. § This is the time to talk about yourself and all of your accomplishments. § If you do need a letter of recommendation, please let your counselor know in a timely manner. Please give us at least a 5 days to complete the letter. We want to be able to take our time and make sure the letter is our best work for you.

§ To request a transcript, you must go through Scrib. Order § You can access Scrib. Order through the GCS website. § https: //www. gcsnc. com/cms/lib/NC 01910393/Centricity/Domain/93/FI NAL_Transcipts_-_Current_Students_Process. pdf § For current Ragsdale students, there is no fee to request your Requesting a Transcript transcript. Once you graduate from Ragsdale, you will have to pay a $13. 00 fee. § Please do not wait until the last minute to request that your transcript be sent somewhere. § If you need your final transcript sent to colleges after graduation, please be sure that you request it. The counselors do not send transcripts if there is no request. § If you have any questions or any problems requesting your transcript, please come by the counseling office and a counselor can help you.

Registering for the SAT and important dates § To register for the SAT, go to www. collegeboard. org and click on the “Register for the SAT” Tab. § You will have to make an account in order to begin the registration process. § It is very important that you follow the directions exactly so as not to risk not being admitted into the testing center the day of the test. § RAGSDALE IS A TESTING SITE!!!! § You can take the SAT as many times as you wish, but it is recommended that you do not take it more than 3 times and to take the essay portion at least once. § The SAT is super scored, which means colleges will take you best score from each section depending on how many times you take it. § If you need an SAT waiver… § Come see your assigned counselor § You will need to bring the letter that was mailed home that indicates that you receive free/reduced lunch § Your counselor will give you the fee waiver and you will enter the code when asked for payment method.

§ To register for the ACT…go to www. act. org § You will have to make an account just like with the SAT § You may need to proved your ACT ID number…if you do not know what it is, come to the counseling center and they can provide it for you § You can also receive a fee waiver for the ACT as well, but you have ACT INFO and DATES to provide the same letter as you do for an SAT waiver. § The next ACT Test Date is….
