Fitness Center S A renovation of the existing space and a two-story expansion was completed in Fall 2013. How the RA Staff can help the Athletic Department S Boost fan attendance at games (consider floor programs related to athletics like “Floor Wars”, “Dorm Wars”. Challenge your residents to get to games. S We have tons of give-a-ways at games. We partner with local companies like Domino’s and Buffalo Wild Wings. We often have t-shirts flying into the bleachers and half time contests. Gift certificates and prizes are ways in which we attract fans. S This winter we will provide fan buses to Hetland Arena, the home of Men’s Ice Hockey. S Each academic year we hire 100+ work study students to assist in areas like the Fitness Center and Equipment Room. We also need lifeguards, building monitors, and intramural work study staff. Most of our positions are game management personnel (sideline ball shaggers, announcers, photographers, anthem singers, statistics keepers, scoreboard operators, set up and break down crews). The game management jobs go fast because there is so much flexibility versus keeping a set schedule. Students can work the games that best fit their class and study schedule week to week.

How the RA Staff can help the Athletic Department S As students progress through

How the RA Staff can help the Athletic Department S As students progress through their academic careers many need internships for credit. We have taken numerous CVPA/Graphic Design majors to assist us with game publicity posters, game day programs, team media guides, etc. We also need help with our Marketing efforts so we tap into the Charlton School of Business. S At June 2014 orientation every freshman received a Domino’s $5. 00 gift certificate. Domino’s has partnered with UMD Athletics to sponsor an exciting promotion. The official Athletics Twitter account will release a weekly confirmation code to validate the certificate. The certificate is only valid with the UMD Athletics Twitter Code. S Help us pack the first football game this fall on Friday night, 9/12, 7: 00 pm S Our Twitter & Instagram are @umassdathletics S Be a fan!
