QUICK TASK: 5 minute task You have 5 minutes to practice creating tone with a pencil. Below are 6 different tones, going from dark to light. Try to copy those 6 tones with your pencil. How would you get a darker tone compared to a light tone? 5 minutes
Creating an observational drawing of some cutlery like the artists you have looked at! 5 minute task Task 1: You have 2 minutes to find yourself a piece of paper and a pen or pencil. If you don’t have any paper, try using things like: back of an envelope, inside a cereal box, cardboard, newspaper etc. Task 2: Pick at least 2 pieces of cutlery from your kitchen. You could choose a fork and a spoon for example. Place them in front of you either crossing over each other or side by side. Task 3: Make yourself comfy. You will be drawing what you can see in front of you for 1 -2 hours. Make sure not to touch them once you have arranged them or your drawing will not be accurate!

5 minute task Use the 5 steps of drawing to help you create your observational drawing. Look at the use of perspective!
Create your observational drawing This will take you at least 2 lessons/ 2 hours. TOP TIPS Follow the 5 steps of drawing and do not move onto the next step until you are sure it is correct! Make sure you look back at what you are drawing after every single line you draw! Use ghost lines or really faint lines to start with. This will help you to rub them out if you need to! Do not rush your drawing. It is important you show the same level as skill as you do in class. 1 hour task
