Questioning Student ownership
Engineering classroom discussion • Steps: 1. Provide some stimulus and a key question. Get students to write down their initial thoughts. 2. Teacher models leading a session using clarify, pause, probe or A, B, C. 3. Teacher nominates a student to lead the session (choose who will speak next), and gives prompts and guidance when required 4. Teacher steps back and lets nominated student lead the session, 5. Class lead the session on their own.
