Becoming Queen • • It took a lot of hard work for Elizabeth to become queen. She became queen when she was 25 years old. Crowned queen in 1558, around the same time her sister Mary died Queen Elizabeth is considered to be the best ruler England has had.
Daily Life of a Queen • • She was proposed to by many men, since people thought a queen should have a king, but she declined them all. Queen Elizabeth hosted many parties and even a couple of masquerade balls when there was a very important event going on. Elizabeth wasn’t as strict of a ruler as some perceived her, but there were many people who did very much like her. She has signed off on some of the laws that England holds and still uses today.
What she did to pass the time • • • She would read many books when not on duty. She would ride horses during her free time in the summer. Queen Elizabeth had also written poems when before going to bed.

The Queen’s Style • • Queen Elizabeth was known for her bright red hair and incredibly pale skin. She dressed modestly. Elizabeth owned at least 2, 000 pairs of gloves. She didn’t wear makeup until 1562. For her dresses she liked all of the glitzy, fancy embroidery or gems on her dresses, although she also wanted plain and simple dresses. Queen Elizabeth 1 was considered the Lady Gaga of her time for having such outrageous and extravagant dresses. She was a trendsetter. Anything she wore, everyone else wanted to wear it.
