Definition Quality of life is a term used to describe an individual or community's well being (positive or negative) in the following areas: emotional, interpersonal, material goods, self development, physical health, social interactions and human rights. Quality of life should not be confused with standard of living which generally refers to material goods and wealth. A person who does not have a lot of money can still have a good quality of life.
