 • Present baseline options for CPA: – Single FR 4 panel, coated on

• Present baseline options for CPA: – Single FR 4 panel, coated on both sides with carbon loaded Kapton foils, mounted in a FR 4 outer frame. • Test on small scale and short term schedule at CERN: – Machining of coated FR 4 (drilling, waterjet, . . ) – Double coating manufacturing procedure and medium size prototyping (0. 6 x 0. 7 m 2, 3 mm thickness) – Building a scaled down version of the CPA using two or three prototype panels (overall size: 0. 6 x 1. 4 or 0. 6 x 2. 1 m 2) to test panel-to-panel electrical connections and mechanical properties (planarity) – Test in LAr (in a 2. 0 m high and 1 m diameter dewar) of this structure for purity, HV, mechanical. – Test of HV bus prototyping /testing March 7 th, 2016 2

Laboratory facilities • The 50 liter chamber facility: – A single vessel 60 cm

Laboratory facilities • The 50 liter chamber facility: – A single vessel 60 cm diameter, 1. 1 m height – Equipped with reliable purification/recirculation system – Three top flanges are available and are interchangeable (to prepare a test while a second is preparation) – Open air dewars also available to host the flanges when purity is not necessary • WA 105 cryogenic vessel: – 1. 7 m height , 0. 96 m diameter – Presently shared with WA 104 – Could be asked for short term operations • The 3 ton Lar dewar: – To be refurbished

Lab facility: 3 ton detector • 2. 4 m height, 1 m diameter vacuum

Lab facility: 3 ton detector • 2. 4 m height, 1 m diameter vacuum insulated stainless steel cryogenic vessel – Equipped with double cooling heat exchanger (inside insulation and below the top flange • Available at CERN but to be operational it will need: – – safety approval new purification/recirculation system Cleaning Time ….
