QAQC Plan for Bare Interlock Crate Nick Starinski
QA/QC Plan for Bare Interlock Crate Nick Starinski, Ude. M 2020 -11 -10
QA/QC of Functional Parts • Passive parts are subjects to Quality Tests only • Active parts are subjects to Quality and Performance Tests.
Main Backplane • Short/Open Test on the bare PCB is optional; subject to agreement with PCB manufacturer • Installed press-fit connectors are more reliable; nearly impossible to replace due to possible irreversible damage to PCB • Rejected boards could be partially usable
Power Supply Backplane • Similar to the Main Backplane
Between-Backplanes Cable • This “unit” consists of: • • One ribbon cable One small PCB One 30 -pin DIN connector for Slot 21 One 20 -pin (10 x 2) connector for PS Backplane
Power Supplies 1 & 2 • Load Test – is checking a brief ability of the PS to supply nearly maximum current < 17 A on the resistive load. • Two power units will be selected for the Quality and Performance Tests of other units.
Power Sharing Module • The only module in the Bare Crate which requires timely performance testing • Minimum number of power unit switching cycles should be identified • This module is still under re-designing due to additional requirements (current and temperature monitoring) • The evaluation PCB for current monitoring is ready for assembly
