1)DEFINE A PROBLEM • IN THIS CASE, OUR PROBLEM WAS GIVEN TO US –TO CREATE A SOLVABLE PUZZLE CUBE WITH 5 INTERLOCKING PIECES.
2) DO BACKGROUND RESEARCH • NO BACKGROUND RESEARCH WAS REQUIRED FOR THIS PROJECT DUE TO ALL THE INFORMATION NECESSARY BEING SUPPLIED BY THE TEACHER.
3) SPECIFY REQUIREMENTS • • • EXACTLY 5 PIECES HAVE TO BE MADE OF NO MORE THAN 6 PARTS PIECES HAVE TO BE MADE OF NO LESS THAN 3 PARTS PIECES HAVE TO FIT IN A 3 X 3 CUBE TOTAL AMOUNT OF PARTS USED HAS TO EQUAL 27

5) CHOOSE THE BEST DESIGN Here are two possible designs for puzzle cubes using some of the pieces that I have brainstormed. I chose the first design, as I believe it is more intuitive to solve. The assembled pieces

8) TEST AND REDESIGN • WHILE CREATING THE OBJECTS IN INVENTOR, MANY TIMESI HAD TO STOP TO IMPROVE THE DESIGN, LIKE ADDING DIMENSIONS TO THE ORTHOGRAPHIC VIEWS AND BUBBLES LABELING THE PIECES AS WELL AS FIX ERRORS THAT OCCURRED IN THE PROCESS, SUCH AS HAVING TWO PIECES INSIDE OF EACH OTHER IN THE ASSEMBLED CUBE.
9) COMMUNICATE PROCESSES AND RESULTS TO COMMUNICATE THE DESIGN PROCESSI CREATED A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION SHOWING EVERY STEP.
